Graeme College

Why Graeme College instead of Graham College of Grahamstown? With eight headmasters educated in Scotland, there was probably little alternative but for the College to be historically correct. Colonel John Graham, after whom the city was named, was a descendent of the Graeme clan...

Our Library

Our boys know that to be successful means the ability to achieve one’s aims and goals in life. It goes beyond having high grades or participating in class.

Academic excellence entails walking the extra mile to achieve the set goals, avoiding any distractions and being on the tracks until one gets to the finishing line.

“A good teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops” —

Henry Adams Our teachers know how to bring out the best in their students, but it’s not magic and it’s not just about popularity, it’s because they believe in every single student.

We involve our pupils in many community outreach programs. They are encouraged to take part in the Presidents Awards, Interact and First Aid.

These programs are designed to equip pupils with essential skills and instill in them an understanding of the social problems we face as a community and a country.

We have recently upgraded our Library facilities at the school and it has become a quiet place for students to read or do their homework.

Graeme is focused on maintaining a facility that promotes reading in the school. We train pupils to become school librarians and the library is open daily.

Pool shade structures.

The project to install shade structures at the pool was started in 2017 by Ms. White. It was a long term goal to eventually have the entire grandstand under shade. To reach this goal Ms. White organized 2 swim-a-thon events. The Graemian family eagerly participated and supported the venture.
